There's a great sense of well-being at Fort Lauderdale's delightful Pelican Grand. Its coastal chic appeal will make you want to linger and return again and again.

There’s a laid-back feeling of days gone by at the Pelican Grand in Fort Lauderdale. Perhaps it’s the oceanfront verandah with its line-up of rocking chairs, pale yellow clapboard siding and white railings that makes it feel so homey. Whatever creates the magic, I loved my stay there – a charming spot right on the beach – one of the very few in the area.

A part of the Noble House Hotels and Resorts Collection, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation, which saw the revitalization of the bar and restaurant, the welcome addition of an intimate spa, and a host of other amenities to this boutique hotel. They’ve created an elegant yet carefree atmosphere throughout, underscored by the presence of a young and very engaging staff.

Even though the Pelican Grand Beach Resort enjoys a wonderful beachside location -  a rare thing in popular Fort Lauderdale – it’s still just a ten-minute car ride north from the Galleria Mall on Sunrise and just fifteen minutes from the restaurants and boutiques of Las Olas Blvd. You couldn’t find a more convenient location for enjoying sun, shopping and dining.

The verandah overlooking the private 500 ft sandy beach mere steps from the ocean is also the venue for outdoor dining for the suitably-named OCEAN2000 Restaurant and Lounge. Offering tasty local fare and produce, OCEAN2000 is a perfect spot for sipping a sundowner cocktail - but take your refill at the nearby O2K lounge, overlooking the expansive horizon oceanfront pool.

Many of the Pelican Grand Beach Resort’s 156 guest rooms are oceanfront suites with a large bedroom, spacious bath, sitting area and private balcony. They are beautifully decorated, very Floridian in décor and have two TV’s, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, ceiling fans and a coffee maker.  When you’re ready for something even more relaxing than a walk on the beach, you’ll find the new PURE spa offers an ideal rooftop retreat, with several outdoor cabanas. There’s a great sense of well-being in this delightful South Florida beach resort with its coastal chic appeal – one that will make you want to linger and return again and again.
