Emerald Waterways Adds A New Ship & New Itineraries in 2021

Emerald Waterways is already looking ahead to 2021 when it will not only introduce new itineraries to its European line-up but also a brand new river ship – Emerald Luna.

The new Star-Ship, Emerald Luna, will debut in the Spring of 2021 and will sail itineraries on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. Built to the same specifications as the lines other river ships, the Luna will feature Emerald Waterways’ signature indoor pool that converts to a cinema at night, as well as the line’s innovative all-weather indoor balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows.

In addition to the new ship, Emerald Waterways will also add a new itinerary to their 2021 season—a 10-day sailing through Holland and Belgium entitled Springtime Delights. Sailing round trip out of Amsterdam in April, the itinerary will include stops in lesser-explored ports such as Maastricht, Holland’s oldest fortified city, and Haarlem, the heart of the Dutch flower growing industry. And because April is the height of tulip season in Holland, the itinerary will include a visit to the iconic Keukenhof Gardens, which boasts nearly 80 acres abloom with more than seven million multicoloured flower bulbs.

There is also a new, eight-day ‘Legendary Rhine & Moselle’ river cruise that travels from Frankfurt to Bernkastel and includes stops in Wiesbaden, Koblez, Cochem and more. Emerald Waterways' 2021 European river cruise pre-release brochure is available for download now.

What’s more, guests booking any 2021 European sailing between January 21 and May 14, 2020 will receive special discounts and value added extras, depending on the length of itinerary and stateroom category they choose. Those interested in a sailing of 15 days or longer will receive free, round trip air and a complimentary premium drinks package for booking in a Category C stateroom and above, or $295 round trip air and complimentary drinks package for Category D, E, and F staterooms. Guests looking to book shorter sailings between 8 and 14 days will receive free round trip air for booking Category C staterooms and above, and $295 round trip air for Category D, E and F staterooms.

For those interested in ocean cruising options with the cruise line, Emerald Waterways recently announced it will be adding the Emerald Azzurra, a 100-guest super yacht to its growing portfolio, which is set to debut in July 2021.

Emerald Waterways’ cruise fares include all transfers; all port charges; all onboard (and some on-shore) meals; unlimited specialty tea and coffee, wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water in staterooms replenished daily; continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapés and after-dinner sweet treats served in the top suites; complimentary Wi-Fi onboard the ship; most shore excursions as well as all onboard and excursion gratuities.
