Seabourn: Enriching Expedition Sailings

Seabourn: Enriching Expedition Sailings

The world’s finest expedition experiences will exceed expectations when Seabourn launches its two new, ultra-luxury purpose-built expedition ships, the Seabourn Venture in 2021, and sister ship in May 2022. Following Seabourn’s hallmark tradition of creating superb environments for exceptional travel, Seabourn Venture signifies the line’s masterful evolution to expedition cruising in the world’s most treasured destinations by curating authentic escapades with rare experiences for the privileged few

NATURAL DESIGN ELEMENTS

The ships’ interior and exterior spaces are being meticulously styled by design icon Adam D. Tihany to enhance the intimate sensations of a private resort at sea, inviting guests to feel at home in deluxe scenarios, whether dining, sharing incredible encounters over cocktails, imbibing splendid seascapes from open decks, or luxuriating in the spa.

New spaces are conceived to magnify engaging rendezvous with other guests or the expert Expedition Team. At the heart of the ship, the Expedition Lounge – fitted with interactive touchscreens and maps to research destinations – is where guests will gather before and after daily expeditions. Adjacent to it, the Discovery Center is the academic, cultural and enrichment core for insightful lectures and audio-visual programs. Two Landing Zones – located at Port and Starboard Deck 3 for easy direct access to Zodiacs and other activities also serve as mudrooms for storing rubber boots and gear.

Inspired to reflect the splendour of natural elements in the realm of global geography– by mingling the ruggedness of earth, stone and minerals with the luminosity of ice and water, and the exotic appeal of flora and fauna – Tihany incorporated tactile textures and brilliant hues evocative of fascinating places Seabourn Venture will explore. Inspiring artifacts are scattered throughout, including traditional wind-measuring instruments suspended at the sky-lit Atrium.

DELECTABLE DINING

As on all Seabourn ships, dining experiences cater to Seabourn guests’ discriminating palates in distinctly designed atmospheres where guests may dine when, where and with whom they choose. Seabourn’s skilled chefs are designing tempting menus including, where possible, fresh local specialties. All dining experiences are complimentary as are premium spirits, fine wines and other beverages, with special selections available for an additional charge. On Seabourn Venture, The Restaurant will present superb dining to rival the world’s finest restaurants in a stunning setting inspired by the abstract dazzle of snowflakes. The Colonnade offers casual alternatives, themed dinners and family-style menus by Michelin-starred Chef Thomas Keller.

Al fresco lunch is lovely on The Patio, weather permitting. Evenings, The Club serves delectable sushi, fresh to order. Seabourn Square is the sociable oasis for specialty coffees, pastries and gelati. The Bow Lounge pantry stocks tasty nibbles for reading or viewing the horizon. Continuing Seabourn’s seafaring heritage, the Constellation Lounge serves early-riser’s pastries and beverages, afternoon tea and evening cocktail tapas. Guests may choose from the 24-hour in-suite menu, or have dinner from The Restaurant served course-by-course in suite or on the veranda. As on all Seabourn ships, guests can anticipate attentive, personalized service, with gratuities not required or expected.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Each of Seabourn’s 170-metre, 23,000-gross-ton vessels are being built to rigorous standards with a Polar Class 6 hull and dynamic positioning technology for stable navigation in the world’s most remote polar environments.

For panoramic viewing at sea, guests can visit the bridge or scan the horizon with Swarovski Optik binoculars that are available for use while on board. Members of the Expedition Team – including wilderness experts, scientists, historians and naturalists – are eager to engage guests throughout the voyage including the Seabourn Conversations program within sights to local history, culture and current ecology. As official cruise partner of UNESCO World Heritage, Seabourn is notable for its environmental stewardship to promote sustainable tourism at global World Heritage site

LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS

The ship is designed to house 132 luxuriously appointed oceanfront veranda suites for up to 264 guests. Each will have an in-suite bar stocked with complimentary libations, a marble bathroom with dual vanities, tub and shower, a walk-in closet, including a heated closet for expedition gear.

Premium suites feature a separate bedroom and living room with a wet bar. The two-storey Wintergarden Suite is perfect for families and friends looking to share their travel experience and can even combine with an adjacent suite for expansive apartment-style accommodations. Boasting supreme luxury, the two Owners’ Suites each have forward-facing windows for panoramic views.

INCREDIBLE ITINERARIES FOR RARE EXPERIENCES

Seabourn’s immersive, expedition voyages invite adventurers to pick their passions and – if inclined to seek thrills beyond the norm – to enhance their experiences with expedition excursions (some at an additional charge). Each expedition ship will carry two submarines custom-created for Seabourn with two clear acrylic spheres to carry six guests plus a pilot for journeys up to 300 metres deep to view underwater reefs and marine life. The subs will operate in regions where conditions are suitable. Each ship will also carry kayaks, mountain and e-bikes, plus a fleet of 24 Zodiacs.
