With one of the most modern fleets in Europe – comprising of 12 five-star cruisers built to the highest specifications and delighting customers with world-class holidays that guarantee exceptional value – Riviera entered the river cruise market 12 years ago and is now offering 15 itineraries on 10 European waterways.
These floating luxury boutique hotels, none older than six years, feature fine dining with meals prepared by professional chefs and served by attentive staff, as well as highly engaging and informative excursions led by experienced tour leaders and local guides. Riviera leaves gratuities and drinks up to the guests and promises never to add hidden surcharges or fees, or to artificially inflate or discount prices.
Since Riviera River Cruises has only marketed in North America for the past two years, they have to offer some unique benefits to their clients – this includes more immersive itineraries, extremely competitive pricing for a product which is truly top of the line, as well as catering to the growing ‘singles’ market as 60% of all North Americans over the age of 65 are solo travellers. They are also the only European river cruise line offering departures exclusively for guests who travel on their own. On such cruises, this means that single occupancy is available in every stateroom and suite across the ship, with no single supplement.
Riviera debuted its solo traveller itineraries on the Danube and Rhine Rivers in 2018 in recognition of increasing demand for solo cruises. It has since added new itineraries and departure dates on a regular basis. In 2020, seven solo traveller itineraries will be available. The newly added itineraries include the five-day Amsterdam, Kinderdijk & the Dutch Bulbfields River Cruise departing on March 30th; the eight-day Seine, Paris & Normandy River Cruise setting sail on March 31st; and the eight-day Medieval Germany River Cruise departing on October 24th, 2020.
Plus the previously scheduled solo itineraries which include:
- The Blue Danube River Cruise, an eight-day journey with departures on March 30th, April 3rd and November 2nd;
- Burgundy, the River Rhône & Provence River Cruise departing April 2nd for an eight-day trip;
- Rhine, Strasbourg & Heidelberg River Cruise, an eight-day cruise setting sail on October 31st;
- The Douro, Porto & Salamanca River Cruise with departures of the eight-day journey scheduled on November 8th and 13th, 2020.
