Earlier this month, PONANT, the only French-owned cruise line and the world leader in Arctic and Antarctica luxury explorations, took delivery of Le Bougainville, the third of their six new Explorer type yachts and the eighth vessel in their fleet.
Designed for warm water explorations, Le Bougainville carries 184 guests on board in an intimate all-inclusive ambiance of a private yacht with chic accommodations (all with private balconies), inviting outdoor deck areas, French-inspired cuisine and world-class service. Just like her sister ships, the yacht will feature Ponant’s signature Blue Eye (see video below) – the world’s first multi-sensory underwater lounge, equipped with state-of-the-art environmental preservation technology. During her inaugural season, Le Bougainville will sail through the Mediterranean before repositioning to the Seychelles for the winter months.
Also new for the 2019 & 2020 season is Ponant’s Quintessential Collection voyages, a series of themed cruises featuring notable onboard speakers and excursions ashore that embrace the local culture. These sailings were designed exclusively for North American travellers who wish to engage with the world in order to better understand it and focus on our environment and climate change, food and wine, world history, gardens, classical music, current affairs, modern art and which take Ponant’s guests all over the world, from Antarctica to Japan.
