Unexplored Greece
8-days Piraeus (Athens) Roundtrip aboard M/S Panorama
May 31 – August 23, 2024

Day 1 – Friday – Piraeus to Cape Sounion
Your M/S Panorama is ready for you in Marina Zeas and the first day of your Greek adventure begins as you head from Piraeus to Cape Sounion. Enjoy an al-fresco, get-to-know-each-other dinner under the ancient Greek Temple of Poseidon (the god of sea) in Cape Sounion, one of the most iconic sites. Spend the first night on board as the ship sails towards Ikaria.

Day 2 – Saturday – Ikaria
Wake up in paradise, aka Seychelles Beach in Ikaria. Enjoy your first of many swim stops before the ship sails to Ikaria’s quaint port where you have the option to go for a wildlife hike, enjoy a family style cooking class, or take a dip in Ikaria’s thermal spring. Overnight in Ikaria.

Day 3 – Sunday – Patmos & Lipsi
Sail from Ikaria to Patmos, home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a significant Christian pilgrimage site. Its Cave of the Apocalypse is where John of Patmos is said to have written the Book of Revelations. An 11th-century monastery dedicated to the saint overlooks the hilltop capital, Chora. Enjoy an al fresco lunch while sailing towards your next stop, the picture-perfect Lipsi. Enjoy Lipsi’s famous sweet red wine, Aposperitis, produced from grapes that were left to overripen on the vine and left in the sun to dry. Enjoy an evening at leisure and overnight in Lipsi.

Day 4 – Monday – Kalymnos
Set sail to Kalymnos in the early morning hours, with a refreshing swim stop on the way. Kalymnos is home to the famous Greek sponge divers and you will have the opportunity to meet the locals who harvest them and learn all about the process of getting the sponges from reef to market. In the afternoon, hike one of the many famous trails, enjoy some beach time or visit the stunning Esperidon fjord, with over 50 caves and rock formations, the most beautiful fjord in Greece. Overnight in Kalymnos.

Day 5 – Tuesday – Levitha & Amorgos
Today, the M/S Panorama says goodbye to the Dodacanese Islands and sails towards the Cyclades with a stop at the beautiful Levitha island, home to a family of 4, that runs a restaurant for visiting yachts, offering delicious freshly-grilled fish. In the afternoon, sail towards the laid-back  island of Amorgos, famous for Luc Besson’s  film “The Big Blue”. Boasting beautiful natural landscapes, minimal architecture, fabulous beaches and mysterious caves, this is one of the hidden gems of the Cyclades. Overnight in Amorgos.

Day 6 – Wednesday – Koufonisia & Iraklia
Before you set sail on your next adventure, visit Panagia Chozoviotissa, a monastery of the Virgin Mary, carved into the dramatic sea-facing cliffs and filled with significant ancient heirlooms. Then on to Koufonisia, a tiny two island gem with beautifully clear water, caves and rock pools accessible only by boat. Jump directly off deck to swim, snorkel, kayak or paddle board to explore the island’s natural beauty with its endless hues of blue, green and turquoise. On your way to secluded Iraklia, enjoy a scenic sail of Schinoussa Island with its beautiful beaches and tiny villages. Photogenic Iraklia is protected by Natura 2000, a network of nature protection areas in the EU, and offers incredible mountain footpaths leading to awe-inspiring views. You can also enjoy one of its long, sandy beaches with crystal clear water. Overnight in port.

Day 7 – Thursday – Serifos
The ship sails to Serifos with a swim stop at a remote beach. Refuel with an on board barbecue before exploring the rockiest island in the Cyclades with some of the most beautiful beaches found on the Aegean Sea, making it one of the hidden gems. Blue or green, shallow or deep, sand or pebbles, shaded or sun-drenched, the choice is yours. There are 40 official beaches (72 if you ask the locals) to choose from. Take your time to climb the stairway to the Venetian castle, admiring the whitewashed houses as they perch on the rim of vertical rocks above Hora. The view from there is one of the best in the Cyclades. In the evening, enjoy a special farewell dinner on board. Midnight sail back to Piraeus.
