First-Ever Fleet Gathering Celebrates New Additions to Longest-Serving International Expedition Brand in the Galápagos

PUERTO AYORA, GALÁPAGOS – In a historic first, four ships from the National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions fleetNational Geographic Delfina, National Geographic Gemini, National Geographic Islander II, and National Geographic Endeavour II—came together today in Academy Bay to celebrate the official naming of the fleet’s two newest vessels to the fleet.

The ceremonial gathering marked a rare and powerful moment for Lindblad Expeditions, the longest-standing international operator in the Galápagos, underscoring both its deep roots in the region and the breadth of its expedition offerings.

From the sleek, 16-guest National Geographic Delfina, ideal for families and private charters, to the 96-guest National Geographic Endeavour II, built for travellers eager to explore the archipelago’s vibrant wildlife-rich waters with a variety of diving opportunities, the fleet represents unmatched choice and flexibility for exploring one of the planet’s most extraordinary destinations.

The christening ceremony—which will take place later today—will highlight Lindblad Expeditions’ enduring commitment to education, community, and conservation in the Galápagos, with multigenerational community members planned to be in attendance alongside Lindblad Expeditions leadership, guests, staff and crew and their families, and local dignitaries and partners.
