Guests can ride up to 405 miles of the Danube Cycle Path
while enjoying the comforts of a luxury river cruise

For travellers who want to explore the Danube on two wheels, Riverside Luxury Cruises is introducing three Riverside Active cycling sailings aboard Riverside Mozart in 2027. The first, a seven-night journey from Passau to Vienna, July 22–29, is followed by a seven-night Vienna to Budapest journey, July 29–August 5. Travelers can book either sailing or combine the two for a 14-night Passau to Budapest journey, July 22–August 5, with up to 405 miles of cycling along the Danube Cycle Path.

Each day brings a different stretch of the Danube Cycle Path, with routes ranging from 18 to 62 miles. Cyclists can borrow an e-bike from Riverside Mozart’s fleet, or bring their own, with onboard storage available. All rides are supported by an expert cycling guide and safety vehicle.

The rides are as varied as the river itself. Cyclists follow the Danube through the Wachau Valley, tackle the Schlögen Loop - a dramatic 180-degree bend in the river—and ride through the Danube Bend toward Visegrád while taking in the sights of vineyards, villages and historic sites along the way. In the Wachau, for example, cyclists can ride from Melk to Dürnstein, while in other ports they can choose to explore by bike or join a Riverside Choice excursion instead.

At the end of each ride, Riverside Mozart is waiting. There’s no luggage to repack or hotel to find - just a spacious suite, gourmet dining and Riverside’s attentive service waiting at the end of each day.

The flexibility of the experience is intentional and reflects one of Riverside’s core values. The amount guests ride each day is up to them, and a day off the bike is easy: Riverside Mozart continues to the next port, where guests can choose from Riverside Choice excursions. If a cyclist starts a ride and decides not to continue, the support vehicle can transport the guest and bicycle to the next port.

That flexibility also makes the experience work well for couples or friends with different ideas of an active vacation. One guest can spend the day cycling through the Wachau Valley while a companion explores a destination, joins an excursion or simply enjoys the ship. They come back together for dinner and continue the journey.

And Riverside Mozart gives cyclists plenty of ways to spend the hours between rides. Its 1,292-square-foot spa has a swimming pool with a tidal current, Jacuzzi, saunas and steam rooms, two treatment rooms and a quiet relaxation area. The 743-square-foot fitness center includes treadmills, rowing machines and stationary bikes, along with Technogym equipment, free weights and space for stretching and yoga.

The ship's approach to flexibility extends to dining. Guests can provide food allergies, dietary preferences and aversions before sailing, and that information is available to the dining team throughout the cruise. Allergens are identified on menus and buffet offerings, with vegetarian and vegan selections clearly marked.

The full 14-night itinerary also includes a VIP, after-hours evening at Vienna's Belvedere Palace, with a private musical performance and an opportunity to view Klimt's The Kiss without the usual crowds.
