SILVERSEA CONCLUDES 2025 ARCTIC SEASON; LOOKS AHEAD TO 21-VOYAGE ARCTIC OFFERING FOR 2026
The 2025 Arctic season included Silver Endeavour’s first voyage through the Northwest passage, which brought guests to many of the world’s most remote destinations
Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has concluded its 2025 Arctic season, after a series of voyages to many of the world’s most remote and awe-inspiring frontiers. From May to September, Silver Endeavour sailed across the High Arctic, navigating remote regions from Svalbard to Greenland, and Arctic Canada. For the first time, Silver Endeavour ended her Arctic season by crossing the legendary Northwest Passage, traveling from Nuuk, Greenland to Nome, Alaska.
“With Silver Endeavour’s crossing of the Northwest Passage, we have concluded another successful Arctic season, delivering once-in-a-lifetime experiences to our guests in remote destinations that few ever get to see,” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “We will go even further in 2026, following in the paths of legendary explorers during 21 voyages, exploring many of the Arctic’s most off-the-beaten-path destinations for our guests’ enjoyment.”
A SEASON OF FIRSTS AND RARE ENCOUNTERS
Departing from Leith (Edinburgh) on May 25th, 2025, Silver Endeavour embarked on voyages through the Canadian Arctic, Greenland, and Svalbard, including its inaugural journey through the Northwest Passage – a milestone that underscores Silversea’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of polar exploration.
Guests witnessed the rarest of Arctic wildlife in far northern reaches, including:
• Thousands of beluga whales in the Churchill River estuary
• Multiple polar bear sightings in Nunavut and Svalbard
• Approximately 500,000 nesting pairs of Brünnich’s guillemots at Cape Wolstenholme (Nunavik)
The Arctic presented guests with unique experiences, including a spectacular Aurora Borealis display and a guided Western Bluffs hike with local bear monitors. Their journey was capped by an ice-edge expedition, with guests leaping into the icy Arctic waters in a polar plunge.

The conclusion of the 2025 season reinforces Silversea’s dedication to delivering transformative journeys in both polar regions, as the brand prepares to launch 21 new Arctic voyage offerings for 2026. In the coming year, both Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind will traverse the far reaches of the North, taking guests to destinations such as Longyearbyen, Reykjavik, and Tromsø. These dramatic landscapes offer a journey of discovery, placing guests in the forefront of the Arctic’s rich history, uncovering its ancient traditions, all while offering a glimpse of modern life in the North.
