140 DAYS, 59 DESTINATIONS, 30 COUNTRIES: SILVERSEA GUESTS EMBARK ON ‘THE CURIOUS AND THE SEA,’ A GLOBAL JOURNEY INSPIRED BY THE SPIRIT OF EXPLORATION
Silversea sets sail on its most immersive World Cruise to date, calling in the highest number of destinations in the brand’s history

Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, is setting sail on its World Cruise 2026, ‘The Curious and the Sea’ – the most diverse and immersive voyage in the brand’s history. Calling in 59 destinations across 30 countries, the six-continent sailing on Silver Dawn will connect travellers to the rich history of navigation, inspired by the same curiosity that led ancient seafarers to sail to unknown lands.

With ‘The Curious and the Sea,’ we have created a journey that celebrates the essence of exploration.” said Bert Hernandez, president, Silversea. “From exclusive cultural celebrations to extraordinary culinary moments, this voyage is designed to spark curiosity and deepen connections with the world’s diverse cultures and landscapes, all delivered with the personalized service that defines Silversea.”

Guests will depart on the 140-day journey from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after an evening of celebration. The exclusive Bon Voyage event at the Boca Raton hotel featured a 1920s theme inspired by the resort’s 100-year anniversary, with guests donning flapper fashion and enjoying the music of the jazz age.

World Cruise guests will now set sail toward Central America, leading to the Panama Canal toward Ecuador and Peru. Easter Island, French Polynesia, and the South Pacific will follow, with guests exploring New Zealand and taking part in a semi-circumnavigation of Australia – a first on a Silversea World Cruise. Guests will then explore Southeast Asia, crossing the Bay of Bengal to Sri Lanka, India, before delving into the majestic landscapes of South Africa and the continent’s west coast. The journey of discovery ends with European history and culture, concluding in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 27, 2026.

CELEBRATING CULTURE, CUISINE, AND CONNECTION

Silversea’s diverse offering of World Cruises provides travellers with prime cultural access through an array of bespoke events, planned exclusively for guests. During ‘The Curious and the Sea,’ these include:

•    ‘Polynesian Dreams’ – French Polynesia (February 7): Guests will be immersed in the rich seagoing traditions of French Polynesia in the sacred island of Motu Tapu, an area once reserved exclusively for the legendary 19th century monarch who once ruled Tahiti. From sampling local flavors to learning traditional dances, the event culminates in a celebration that captures the spirit of the islands.
•    ‘The Magic of Mystery Island’ – Mystery Island, Vanuatu (February 17): On the pristine shores of Mystery Island in Vanuatu, guests will enjoy a curated fusion of regional dance rituals and fresh island cuisine. The event offers a chance to snorkel in crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life, offering a rare glimpse into Vanuatu’s natural beauty and cultural vibrancy.

•    'From Paddy To Plate’ – Benoa, Bali (March 26): A feast of regional cuisine alongside the stunning rice paddies of the five-star Tanah Gajah resort awaits guests in Benoa, Bali. Guests will develop an appreciation for Southeast Asia’s sacred grain, which migrated around the world with early seafarers. They will also take part in authentic Balinese performances, manuscript writing, and more.

•    'The Exotic Marigold And More’ – Cochin, India (April 12): Following a tuk-tuk ride through Cochin’s bustling streets, guests will be welcomed with flower garlands and a vibrant showcase of Kerala’s cultural artistry. Highlights include drumming and martial arts performances, a traditional Sadhya lunch served on banana leaves, and a serene houseboat cruise through the backwaters.

•    Diamonds are Forever – Cape Town (May 3): Inspired by the legendary Cullinan Diamond, this elegant evening at the Vergelegen Conservatory features a bespoke menu by nine-time Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen. Guests will enjoy orchestral music, swing band performances, and dance shows, in a celebration of heritage and luxury.

•    A Feast of Flowers in Funchal – Funchal, Madeira (May 23): The final exclusive event of 'The Curious and the Sea’ begins at Funchal’s Central Market during the annual Flower Festival. Guests will then be welcomed to Quinta Magnolia for a garden reception featuring local artisanal products, a live folk band, and a four-course dinner with performances between courses.

The ‘Curious and the Sea’ includes additional enrichments, such as a partnership with world-class guest chefs and local culinary ambassadors who seek to elevate the culinary experience for guests. They will bring culinary diversity through the introduction of bespoke tasting menus and onboard experiences, such as S.A.L.T. Talks and S.A.L.T. Lab classes, across five ports of call – including Lima, Melbourne, and Singapore. Guests onboard will also enjoy performances by the Tommy Dorsey orchestra. The group – recognized as one of the best all-around dance bands – will be onboard during the West Africa segment of the voyage.
